Black Dog of Fate

so i’m reading a novel that incorporates the Armenian genocide and one key phrase is muttered by an old african-american mail room boss who said that when he was young (during WWI) and he didn’t finish his plate of food, his mother would say, “remember the starving Armenians.” I’m kind of troubled by the fact that it became a part of popular culture and still today, people say, “think of the african children” or something like that.. again, that has become part of American culture and still, we do nothing about it but throw more money at them!

and where does that money go? it lines the pockets of the corrupt politicians. maybe 15% of it actually goes to buy food and medicine (which we have cured most of the diseases they are afflicted with)! it’s not the lack of money that is the problem, it’s the lack of ambition and motivation that the rest of the world has for doing something about the starving children and the slaughter that happens everyday.

sometimes, I hate the world and myself because I don’t do anything either…
